Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is a form of primary healthcare that focuses on disease prevention and optimization of health while addressing the root cause of illness. Naturopathic Doctors have a minimum of 8 years of post-secondary education and are trained in the medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, clinical diagnosis of disease, pharmacology, etc) as well as natural therapies (clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle medicine, counselling, acupuncture, etc). Their comprehensive training allows them to provide integrative, holistic care for a wide range of conditions. Visits with a Naturopathic Doctor are much longer than with a family doctor, allowing patients to ask questions and learn more about their body and their health concerns. Some conditions that Naturopathic Doctors can help with include: digestion (IBS, IBD, chronic constipation, bloating, etc), anxiety and stress, insomnia, fertility and pregnancy care, hormonal concerns such as PCOS and endometriosis, skin conditions (acne, eczema, rosacea), weight management, fatigue/low energy, and more. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan that is curated for their specific health goals and needs.
